What we do:
At ZIV, we develop smart IEDs & systems for power grids. We specialise in protection, control, communication, and meteting technologies that make power grids more intelligent and sustainable. Our core solutions focus on substation automation for primary and secondary substations, as well as meteting systems and supervisio solutions for low-voltage networks.
We group our offerings into five main segments:
Where we are:
We are located at the Zamudio campus of the Parke Tecnolgico de Euskadi, where we currently have two buildings. This is the headquarters, located in building 210, where we have all the smart grid laboratories for high, medium, and low voltage.
Most of our R&D department works here. Out of a total of 440 employees, more than 230 are based at the Zamudio campus. The rest are located at our facilities in Madrid, Barcelona, India, Brazil, the United Kingdom, and Saudi Arabia. Additionally, we have an automated smart energy meter factory in building 407.

ZIV serves major Transmission System Operators (TSOs), Distribution System Operators (DSOs), EPC integrators, and renewable energy developers.
We have a strong international presence, with references in over 80 countries, supporting key players in the renewable energy sector. ZIV is one of the leading providers of integrated protection, control, and communication systems for wind and solar power substations in Spain.
