ZIV has just delivered the final set of 8.000 meters from an order to supply 30,000 advanced meters that will monitor and boost the performance of the electricity grid of Administración Nacional de Electricidad (ANDE) in Paraguay.
ZIV company is the main smart metering provider in Spain and a key player in the global smart grid market where it offers ZIV meters, DCUs and Distribution Automation solutions
ZIV’s Smart Grid offerings include self-healing and adaptive restoration systems that detect and isolate faults and restore power to the maximum number of customers. Systems are self-adaptive to handle multiple cascaded fault scenarios.
The current order is another strategic step in the expansion plans of ZIV, which already has interests in Latin American countries of Argentina, Chile, Mexico and Brazil. According to data from International Energy Agency, by 2025, electricity demand in Mexico/Chile is expected to grow 56.6% and 28.3% for the rest of Latin America. This opens up a window of opportunities in the land-locked countries which CG aims to tap.
At the world’s first major Smart Grid deployment at the Iberdrola STAR Project, in Bilbao, Spain, over 227,000 ZIV smart meters are successfully monitoring the electricity services provided to the area’s 410,000 inhabitants.
